When should GluteGuard® be taken?
The recommended dosage for GluteGuard® is one (1) tablet, 1 to 4 times per day, before a meal where gluten could be present or as recommended by a healthcare professional.

How soon should I take GluteGuard® before a meal?
We recommend taking a tablet within 5-15 minutes before having a meal.

How does GluteGuard® work?
When taken before any gluten free meal that may contain trace amounts of gluten (e.g. from cross-contamination), GluteGuard®'s caricain (papaya-derived) enzymes target and break down gluten into harmless fragments in the intestine. These fragments then pass naturally through the body thereby minimizing symptoms.

Can GluteGuard® be taken after consuming gluten?
GluteGuard® must be taken before a meal to assist in reducing the occurrence of symptoms caused by accidental gluten ingestion. Our clinical studies were not designed to explore GluteGuard®’s protective effects after consuming gluten.

How many GluteGuard® tablets can I take a day?
The maximum recommended dose is 4 tablets a day.

Will cold temperatures affect GluteGuard® ?
The effect of cold temperatures on the integrity and/or efficacy of the GluteGuard tablets have not been investigated. GluteGuard® is recommended to be stored between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius

Can GluteGuard® tablets be split or crushed before taking?
No. Doing so would significantly reduce GluteGuard® ’s effectiveness. The tablets use an enteric coating which protects GluteGuard® ‘s active ingredient as it passes through the acidic environment of the stomach, quickly dissolving only once the tablet reaches the small intestine. This ensures the enzymes are released where they are needed to reduce the occurrence of symptoms.

Is GluteGuard® recommended for children?
GluteGuard® is recommended for adults 19 years and older only. GluteGuard® has not been studied in children.

Can I take GluteGuard® while pregnant or breastfeeding?
GluteGuard® is not recommended to be taken while pregnant or breastfeeding. GluteGuard® has not been clinically tested in pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers. Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can GluteGuard® replace my gluten-free diet?
Despite being careful, accidental gluten-contamination is still a common concern for many people who are on a gluten-free diet. GluteGuard® helps protects against the symptoms of accidental gluten ingestion. GluteGuard® is not intended to replace a gluten-free diet. GluteGuard® must be taken in conjunction with a gluten-free diet.

Does GluteGuard® contain preservatives?
GluteGuard® contains sulphites to preserve its natural ingredient.

Does GluteGuard® leave residual build up in your body?
No, GluteGuard® will not leave a build-up of residue in your body. The natural ingredients only act on the gluten proteins that may be present in a meal that you have eaten, breaking them down into smaller, harmless fragments. They do not interact with the body itself. After this, it simply passes through the rest of the digestive system to be excreted naturally.

What is GluteGuard® “free-from”?
GluteGuard® is gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free.

Can I use blood thinners with GluteGuard®?
GluteGuard®’s active ingredient, Carica papaya dry fruit latex, may interact with blood-thinning medications. Consult a healthcare professional before using GluteGuard® if you are on any blood thinning medication.

What are the Warnings and Precautions to using GluteGuard®?
GluteGuard® is not recommended for use by individuals with allergies to papaya fruit (paw paw), sulphites, or natural rubber latex, and if taking blood thinning medications.
